JK Rowling (Joanne Kathleen Rowling) is a British author, known as the creator of the Harry Potter series. She is very successful with her masterpiece, and has received worldwide attention, won multiple awards and sold more than 400 million copies. Rowling is also famous for its “Nouveau Riche” (French for “new rich”), life history.
How did all this? She was born on July 31, 1965 in Yate, Gloucestershire, England, 10 miles north of Bristol. The idea came when Harry Potter was a period of four hours of delay of the train journey from Manchester to London. In 1995, she completed her manuscript for Harry Potter the Philosopher’s Stone on an old manual typewriter. In June 1997, Bloomsbury published the Philosopher’s Stone with a first print run of 1,000 copies, of which half is distributed among the libraries. Today, these copies are valued between £ 16,000 and £ 25,000. In October 1998 Scholastic has published the Philosopher’s Stone in the U.S. under the title Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. In December 1999, the third novel, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, won the Smarties Prize, making Rowling the first person to win the award three times,. The Sunday Times Rich List 2008 estimated Rowling’s Fortune at £ 560 million ($ 1.1 billion), its position as the twelfth richest woman in Britain. JK Rowling become Nouveau Riche in just five years.
